De te spreken taal kan worden ingesteld door een Locale
bij de methode setLanguage()
:
tts.setLanguage(Locale.CHINESE); // Chinese language
Het aantal ondersteunde talen varieert tussen Android-niveaus. De methode isLanguageAvailable()
kan worden gebruikt om te controleren of een bepaalde taal wordt ondersteund:
tts.isLanguageAvailable(Locale.CHINESE);
Het niveau van de setPitch()
kan worden ingesteld met de methode setPitch()
. Standaard is de pitchwaarde 1,0. Gebruik waarden kleiner dan 1,0 om het pitch-niveau te verlagen of waarden groter dan 1.0 om het pitch-niveau te verhogen:
tts.setPitch(0.6);
De spraaksnelheid kan worden ingesteld met setSpeechRate()
. De standaard spraaksnelheid is 1,0. De spreeksnelheid kan worden verdubbeld door deze in te stellen op 2,0 of de helft te maken door deze in te stellen op 0,5:
tts.setSpeechRate(2.0);
TextToSpeech-implementatie in de API's
Koude waarneembare implementatie, zendt waar uit wanneer TTS-engine stopt met spreken, begint te spreken wanneer hij is geabonneerd. Merk op dat API-niveau 21 een andere manier van spreken introduceert:
